Taking your brand or business to the next level isn’t always as easy as people make it out to be. It isn’t just about making better products or providing better services. The truth is that scaling has nothing to do with the internal processes, but rather what is happening on the outside. There are certain things that you should focus on that I want to share with you today. So below are three ways to take your brand to the next level that you can start implementing today.

IT CAN BE FRUSTRATING

Putting in double the effort is an honorable way to grow your brand, however, it is a frustrating method because it doesn’t work that well. Being in the entertainment industry for so many years, I was led to believe that if I was the best, I would make it. So I worked hard on those things. I had the best website I could possibly get, I had the best showreel, the best products, and I was always working so hard on building my skill set. But at the same time, I would look around me and see other people rising to fame and building success all while putting in half the effort I was. I struggled for so many years, working hard but not getting results. As you read this, you might be able to relate. You see all these people around you getting more opportunities, clients, and cash flow than you are, all while they get to travel and live their dreams while you sit in an office and save all your money while wondering what you’re doing wrong. The worst part is that some of these other people aren’t even that good in the first place. 

ATTENTION IS THE NEW CURRENCY

Let me tell you something… We’re at an age that attention has become the new currency. The company that has a person's attention is the company that wins that person's money and time. Getting attention is the most difficult thing to do these days, but it’s become the most important. This is the reason why your competitors are doing so much better than you–they simply get more attention than you do. 

CLOSING A DEAL IS NOT THE PROBLEM

So many people say that they can close any deal and that their product, barkery, watch, or juice bar, etc. is the best. But here’s the problem… No one is even coming to your juice bar. If you keep spending hours and hours perfecting the ingredients of your new kale drink, you’re just wasting time. Who is supposed to buy it if nobody even knows about you in the first place? Here’s what you need to be doing instead: figuring out how to get seen by more people that can become your customers.

HOW TO GET SEEN

Assuming that you’re not brand new and have already had a few clients or customers, here’s what you can do to scale your brand and get more attention. 

1. GET CLEAR ON YOUR MESSAGING

If people don’t understand exactly what you do, they won’t work with you. You might be saying, ‘But I’m a realtor. Everyone knows I sell luxury real estate.’ But how do you know that? Maybe people think you only do houses $500k and below. Maybe they aren’t hiring you because they think you do something else.

You have to be super defined. Even if you have a bakery, what kind of barkery is it? Do you sell cookies? Cakes? Are you high-end? Are your desserts gluten-free? Do you do custom decorations? All of these things matter. You need to spell it out for your audience, otherwise they may not clearly understand what you do and will not want to buy from you. 

2. BUILD MORE TRUST

Many people won’t move forward with a service or product not because they don’t need it, but because they don’t trust you. Trust has a lot of different elements. For example, there are Google reviews. Do you have good reviews? Are they old or recent? Are people saying good things or bad things? What about your website and social media accounts? Are you sharing testimonials there? If not, sharing video testimonials as well as screenshots of conversations is a great way to build the trust of your audience. 

3. RUN AN EVENT

The final thing I recommend to help you get more attention is to run your own event at least once a month. Before you start paying big publicists myself, try running your own event first. The reason this works is because it makes you popular. When someone is having a party, who is the coolest person there? It’s always the host. They know everyone, they get all the attention, and they get the most opportunities. So running your own event is the perfect way to become that cool person that everyone wants to be with. 

HOW PR CAN HELP YOU GROW

PR is one of the best ways that you can grow, as it combines all three of the points above into one. Getting on TV, for example, is a great way to get clear on your messaging and build trust with your audience.
