3 things to do after getting PR
So you finally got PR. Maybe a press article was written about you, or you were interviewed on TV or on a podcast. After investing into something as powerful as this, what is the next step? Many people simply do nothing and expect those couple of PR pieces to do all the work for them. However, it’s not that easy. If you don’t make an effort to utilize your content, you will gain nothing if nobody ever gets to see it. So instead of expecting things to manage themselves on their own and then be disappointed by the results, you need to put in a few extra, easy steps in order to gain the best results possible. So down below are 3 things that you need to do after getting PR.
Add it to your social media
The #1 place to share about your success is on social media. As of 2023, there are 4.9 billion users of social media. That is over half of the world. With so many eyes online, it’s easier than ever to make connections and share your story with the world. If you had a press article written about you, take some screenshots and post it to your feed. If you were on TV, share the entire clip online, or if you were on a longer-form podcast, take some of the best clips and sections from the interview and share a few of those on your feed and stories. Social media is the best place to grab attention and convince the world that you are a credible and trusted person to do business with.
2. Put it in your email signature
Just like social media, over half of the world uses email to communicate with others. It’s a very professional form of communication that nearly all businesses and clients utilize. Take advantage of this by adding a link to your PR piece straight into your email signature. Instead of just signing off with your name, sign off with your name followed with your PR link. Here are a few examples of how to do this:

By having your PR pieces in your email signature, every person that you email will be able to see these authority-building links. It’s a great way to share your PR without being pushy or forcing anyone to look. Rather, you’ll be inspiring curiosity with the people you speak to when they see new, high value links in your signature.
3. Send it to all your previous, current, and future clients
Getting a new piece of PR is exciting news that your clients deserve to hear about. When you are featured in an interview anywhere online, it shows the world that you truly care about your brand and are worth doing business with. If you just got your first piece of PR released, don’t be afraid to share it directly with your clients. Send an email to your previous and current clients as well as prospects that you haven’t closed yet. Previous clients might be inspired to work with you again, current clients will establish further trust with you, and future clients might finally be convinced to work with you. Simply share an email about how excited and grateful you are and that you wanted to share this special content with your beloved clients.
DON’T FORGET ABOUT YOUR PR AFTER GETTING IT
As mentioned above, most people think that simply getting on TV once or interviewed a few times is enough to make them famous. However, without the proper marketing, nobody will ever even find out about these amazing PR pieces about you. It’s important to take those few extra steps to share your content with the world. Once you do so, you will see the magic of PR finally come to life as people start to praise you, trust you, and do business with you in larger numbers than before.
